This is the easiest way to remove stickers from glass bottles — a simple hack that works in seconds! |

Yes, you read that right! For most of us, removing stickers from glass bottles is often irritating, messy and a tedious task. And let’s just not talk about how much time the process consumes. But even after so much time and effort, there’s no guarantee of a clean bottle because most of the time, labels tear halfway, stubborn glue is left behind, and even after repeated scrubbing, it just won’t go away. While the internet is full of several hacks, we bet nobody told you this one! This is the simplest hack that involves no chemicals, no sharp tools, and no soapy scrubs! All you need is some hot water and patience and voila, the harsh glue and ugly paper, all gone in a matter of few minutes! Read on to know the secret: Hot water to the rescueNow this is actually the easiest, tried and tested way to remove sticky stickers from glass bottles. All you need is some hot water. Fill your bottle with hot water and close the lid. Let it sit for a few minutes. After some time, start removing the sticker slowly, and it gradually peels without tearing halfway. Why it worksThe method works because most sticker adhesives are heat-activated. When you fill the bottle with hot water, it is exposed to heat and the glue softens. It starts to lose its grip on the glass surface in a few minutes.Make sure the bottle is full almost to the top with hot water and the water should be hot enough to produce steam. Boiling water can crack glass. Once filled, close the lid so that steam is trapped inside. Now let the magic happen! The steam heats the glass which loosens the adhesive.Let the bottle sit upright for 10-20 minutes. Let the heat and steam work together. You’ll notice the edges of the sticker beginning to soften on their own. And then gently peel the sticker from one corner. In most cases, the sticker comes off easily. After you have removed the sticker, you’ll notice some bottles may still have a thin layer of adhesive which feels sticky. To get rid of it, you can scrub the bottle using a brush and a few drops of dishwashing liquid. The soft scrubber or sponge will remove the adhesive. Because the adhesive has already been softened by heat, it will come off easily without much scrubbing. This method works wonders on kitchen jars, oil bottles, and beverage bottles. It is a 100 percent safe and chemical free option. TipsMake sure bottles don’t get very hot from soaking or heating, let them cool slightly before handling.Even after this, if natural methods leave some sticky spots, you can use a small amount of rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover. It also dissolves adhesive fast. Alcohol breaks down glue without harming glass. Rinse well afterward before reusing the bottle. With these tried and personally-tried techniques, you can easily take stickers off glass bottles which becomes a simple #kitchenhack that not only saves time and money, but also let you reuse or recycle glass like a pro!
