Jack Patten worked tirelessly to perfect ‘Robin Hood’ performance

Jack Patten spent more than 80 hours training with a bow and arrow for his role as Robin Hood in the new MGM+ series.

The 28-year-old Australian actor spent weeks in Serbia practicing for four to six hours a day to make his portrayal of the legendary hero as authentic as possible.

Patten never used a bow before, so the intensive sessions with the stunt team were crucial.

By the time filming began, he gained enough skill to handle the weapon with confidence, although hitting a bullseye on the first attempt remained a challenge.

The star also learned to ride a horse for the series, overcoming his inexperience to add realism to the action-packed scenes.

The preparation helped Patten fully embody Robin Hood and brought credibility to the medieval story.

The MGM+ series stars Lauren McQueen as Maid Marian, Sean Bean as the Sheriff of Nottingham, Connie Nielsen as Eleanor of Aquitaine and newcomer Henry Rowley as Will Gamewell.

However, Robin Hood is now streaming on MGM+, offering audiences a fresh take on the classic tale with carefully crafted action, authentic performances, and attention to detail that highlights Patten’s dedication.
