‘False And Baseless’: JioStar Denies Reports Of ‘Cyber Intrusion’, Says User Data Secure

JioStar on Wednesday denied reports of a cyber attack, assuring users that their data and streaming services remain secure and uncompromised.

The Reliance-owned OTT platform said news reports in certain regional publications about a “cyber intrusion” of its IT systems are “false and utterly baseless”, and that their core servers remain protected.

“We wish to clarify that news reports in certain regional publications regarding an attempted cyber intrusion of JioStar’s IT systems are false and utterly baseless,” read a media statement released by Reliance Industries Limited on its official social media handle on X.

“We would like to reassure all our users, partners, and stakeholders that our core servers remain secure and uncompromised. All user data and streaming services are fully protected. There has been no disruption to our platform operations, and all sports and entertainment streaming on JioStar continues uninterrupted,” it read.

JioStar further said user trust is its top priority and it maintains high cybersecurity standards, while continuing to monitor and prevent any future cyber threat.

“At JioStar, safeguarding user trust is our highest priority. We remain committed to maintaining the highest standards of cybersecurity and continue to monitor our systems proactively to prevent any future threats,” it added.
